On the morning of August 9, 2024, Kolkata was shaken by the tragic news of a brutal crime at RG Kar Medical College, where a 31-year-old female trainee doctor was raped and murdered. The incident sparked widespread outrage and protests across India and around the world.

In the Republic of Ireland, solidarity protests were held in multiple locations, with participants demanding justice for the victim. I had the opportunity to document two such protests that took place in Dublin.
